The Brief
Aching Arms approached us to document a unique event as part of their Offload campaign. The event brought together men who had experienced the loss of a child, offering them a safe space to play golf, connect with others, and speak openly about their grief. The aim was to raise awareness of the campaign, break the silence around bereavement, and encourage healthier conversations about mental health, especially within the construction industry.

Our Approach
We took a documentary approach that balanced sensitivity with strength. Through interviews, b-roll, and quiet observation, we captured moments of connection and reflection without interrupting the space. The focus was always on honesty, respect, and human connection. The result was a short film that felt real, warm, and supportive.

What We Delivered
• Documentary-style event film
• Full filming and editing of interviews, activities and interaction
• Emotionally grounded storytelling for charity awareness

Behind the Scenes
The day was incredibly moving. We were welcomed into the group and given the space to observe and capture it all as it happened. There was a sense of trust and purpose throughout the shoot. Also, being able to drive our own golf buggy made it a little more fun than usual. It was one of those rare projects where you leave feeling like you were part of something much bigger than yourself.

The Outcome
The film has helped Aching Arms spread awareness of the Offload campaign and the wider charity. It is being used as a key resource to start conversations, encourage participation, and support future events. The team were incredibly happy with the result and the message it delivers.

Why It Mattered
Some stories are more than just content. This was one of them. The Offload campaign is giving people a reason to open up and find support in a way that feels safe and natural. Helping to capture that honestly and respectfully was a privilege. We care deeply about storytelling that makes a difference. This project did exactly that.
